BREITNER Packaging machine solutions with transport moulds (pucks)

Some bottles do not stand reliably on the conveyor belt: they are too small, too light, have a sloping base or are top-heavy. In all these cases, each bottle is placed in a transport mould in which it goes through the entire process – filling and closing. Before packing, the bottle is removed from the transport mould, which runs back to the bottle unscrambler. At a low output in the filling process, the bottles can be set up manually together with the puck. For higher outputs, we recommend our bottle unscrambler with integrated mould inserter (type BFP).

Containers and closures?
No matter what, we can handle them all!

Transport mould – The puck in the filling process of our packaging machine solutions

When containers are too small, unstable or difficult to transport due to their shape, packaging technology uses what is known as a puck. This is a specially adapted transport mould that guides the container stably throughout the entire filling and sealing process. BREITNER machines enable the efficient and reliable use of pucks. This means that even special containers, small bottles or unusual packaging designs can be processed reliably – without compromising on speed, precision or product quality.
The puck thus offers maximum flexibility for a wide variety of container types in modern filling lines.

Stable leadership

Even difficult container shapes are transported safely by the puck – ensuring smooth operations throughout the entire process

Flexible packaging solutions

From small bottles to special designs – the puck enables maximum process reliability with maximum design freedom.

Frequently asked questions Our answers

What is a puck and when is it used in the filling process?

A puck is a precisely manufactured transport holder that securely guides the container throughout the entire filling and capping process. It is used wherever unstable, small or irregularly shaped bottles need to be held securely in place – for maximum process reliability and repeat accuracy.

What are the advantages of filling using the puck system?

The use of pucks eliminates the need for time-consuming changeovers when switching formats. Different container sizes can be processed on the same line. This ensures high flexibility, reduced downtime and smooth, even transport – ideal for sensitive products and high line outputs.
