Capping machines are key modules within a filling line, applying the appropriate closure to filled bottles, canisters, or other containers. They ensure a secure, leak-tight, and visually clean seal—helping protect product quality and shelf life.

There are different machine designs, including inline (linear) cappers for continuous flow and rotary cappers for high-speed output. Capping machines can handle a wide range of closures—such as screw caps, press-on caps, crown caps, dip-tube closures, and special caps—and are often equipped with servo drives for precise torque control.

In modern packaging lines, capping machines can be flexibly adapted to different container sizes and closure types. Additional steps such as inserting droppers, applying dust caps, or fitting measuring cups can also be integrated.

Typical applications:

  • Food and beverage (water, juice, oil, sauces)
  • Chemical industry (cleaning agents, paints, lubricants)
  • Pharmaceuticals and cosmetics (syrups, lotions, shampoo)

Standards and safety considerations:

  • CE marking in line with the Machinery Directive
  • Hygienic design for food and pharmaceutical applications
  • ATEX versions for potentially explosive products
